Yenanchaung Regional College            – (23.5.1977 – 31.3.1980)

Yenanchaung College                           – (1.4.1980 – 25.6.2002)

Yenanchaung Degree College               – (26.6.2002 – 30.8.2020)

Yenanchaung University                       – (31.8.2020 – Today)

Department of Chemistry was established since 1977. Currently, the department offers BSc, BSc (Hons.) and Master Degrees. These degrees are awarded based on the four specialized fields of Chemistry which are Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry. Provide effective training by conducting applied research and enhancing the quality of teachers by inviting local and foreign experts to conduct trainings and lectures. The Department has highly qualified faculty members who are actively engaged in research and development work in different areas of science and technology. Students will gain interest and confidence in the subject by conducting the exchange programs and study tours with local and foreign universities. The vision of the Department of Chemistry is to nurture the human resources for life through the application of chemistry and to produce the good citizens who can be relied upon the development of the country and society.

Department of Chemistry

            The Department of Chemistry is closely supervised by the Professor (Head of Department). Experienced and Qualified professors, Associate Professors, Lecturers, Assistant lecturers and demonstrators produce innovative and professional graduates through effective teaching. Experienced lab – staff support for practical training. An office staff is responsible for the department’s office work.
